Beginning October 2, 2017, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services facility will undergo remodeling allowing for much needed construction and maintenance. Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services staff and contractors will be resealing floors of the entire facility, installing new dog and cat kennels, a new automatic dog watering system and a new industrial washer and dryer. The goal is to transform the building into an up-to-date safe and clean environment for the staff and the animals in their care.

During the month of October, the front portion of the Animal Services facility will remain open to the public for normal operations: rabies shots, microchips and spay/neuter vouchers and animal intakes.  All animals will be housed at a private and safe facility.

We need your help! To reduce the number of animals housed at the temporary shelter, Sheriff Neil Godfrey is running a “Make Me an Offer” deal on all of our adoptable pets! The deal began on Friday, September 15, 2017 and will run until we return to our updated facility.

While the kennel facility is closed, animals will not be available for public viewing. However, in order to help everyone find their next furry family member, Moore County Sheriff’s Office Animal Service personnel will maintain a constant adoption presence at the Aberdeen PetSmart. The Shelter staff will be on location several times a week and on Saturdays!
